Education for every child

There is a nursery and Balbhaban where children from 3-6 yrs. and 2-3 yrs. attend classes regularly. The children are taught through games and various other activities. In addition, drawing classes, abacus classes are organised to provide special skills to children. Pre-primary teacher’s training is regularly organised. Summer camps are organised during April & May every year for children, adolescent girls, and women. Everybody enjoys these camps.

Health Care

Prevention is better than cure is the simple philosophy followed in all SSK programmes. It starts with various types of awareness programmes like nutrition, chronic illness etc. SSK also organises yoga training for women & elderly persons, awareness programmes for adolescent girls on personal hygiene & amp; personality development; health check-up camps for children, adolescent girls, sr. Citizens etc.; dance classes like zumba for weight reduction of women.

Social & cultural

SSKs organizes various social , environmental & cultural programmes like celebrating World Environment day, International teacher’s day, international HIV/ AIDs day, yearly Dindi, X-mas, Janmashtami, Nagpanchami etc. In addition, various types of dance classes like Bharatanatyam, Western dance and music instruments like table, harmonium, guitar etc. are also taught to children and adults.

Sports

Under sports, mainly Karate classes are organised for children and youth on regular basis. Quite a number of students win black belt in national level competitions.

Vocational Training

SSKs organises various types of short term and long-term vocational training programmes like tailoring & fashion designing, beauty parlour, mehendi, various food items, artificial ornaments, etc. Many women have employment or self-employment after attending the training programmes. SSKs in Aurangabad and Wardha have also been following the above model. However, the locations of the SSKs in both areas are away from the communities. Therefore, efforts are being made to establish centres close to the communities to take SSK activities to the poor and economically weaker section of the society. SSK in Aurangabad conducts various programmes in nearby schools for the children. In Pantnagar, tailoring class has been started in two locations.
